My favorite decade of my life so far, the 1970s exposed me to a wider world, grounded me in who I was, and set me on a path to be the person I am today.
I agree! Loved the 1970's. While I was a young mother - so not as free to explore as you, Richmond had a great artistic and liberal community. My children still roll their eyes at pictures of them in their bell bottoms.
I loved bell bottoms! The one in the photo with me holding the guitar, were red, white, and blue stripes. I wish I had the photo in color!

Loved hearing your stories. My journey was not the same as your but I do found solace in the bookstores and streets of San Francisco
Although I haven’t been there in a long time, and I know it’s changed, San Francisco will always hold an important piece of my heart!
