This was such a beautiful, poignant story, Annette. What a vivid illustration of the way in which nature is constantly generating metaphors that help us connect the sometimes disjointed dots of our interior landscape. The bereaved mother was able to find life inside herself through those coleus you planted. So moving! Thank you for sharing. 🌿✨
This was just the story I needed, Annette. How the things we do can change others’ lives, even when we didn’t realize it would. Just being yourselves in that moment in time gave healing to the parents, what a gift that was, and you didn’t even know it at the time.
I’ve found that’s so often the way. Living authentic lives can have impact that is often never known. I’ve certainly been the recipient of it, but it always touches me deeply when I hear it from others.
This is beautiful. although very sad, you did justice to their 1st home and to their tragedy. You gave the mother some peace in her unimaginable grief.
Thanks, Melissa. I expected the cut leaf coneflower to do well. I’m glad to hear it is. If you’re interested in golden ragwort, it’s another beautiful plant that is pretty aggressive. I have a ton of it and it’s a spring bloomer so it’s blooming now.
What a lovely read. Your words pulled me in and held me. I strongly believe that there is healing in nature. <3
Thank you, Petra. That means a lot. I agree completely with you!
Glad to have that in common. <3
Me too!
You've got a new sub. Feel free to check out my work as well. Wishing you a restful and beautiful weekend. <3

Thank you so much, Keith. I appreciate your thoughtful response. Is it about connecting disjointed dots. Isn’t it?
Thank you Annette. Simply, thank you.

Thanks for this story! Excellent way to reflect about the wonders of new life that are part of each and every Spring!
Thanks, Joy. I love Spring for that reason!
A lovely story, but weren't you disappointed that they didn't renew your lease?
Thanks. Yes, but we certainly understood.
What a beautiful story Annette. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you, Robin.
A beautiful piece. Thank you, Annette. This found me on the 13th anniversary of my son’s death. I, too, went looking for life today.
Oh, Cathy, I had no idea. I so it helped in your search for life today. Sending love!

Just lovely, Annette. Btw the cutleaf coneflowers you gave me are going gangbusters!

I'd love some! I've been looking for a feisty native to replace some hated liriope. I'll email you!
