I am asking the same question. After a long hiatus this summer into fall, I felt like I was inching my way back to Substack and to writing. Holidaze has now intervened, however, so, one step forward and then back again. I'm sure it will happen, and I appreciate your sharing how these things work.

Forgive me if I response to this twice. I don't see my response and I didn't want to appear like I ignore your comment. I have every confidence that you will find your way back to writing when you're ready. I just encourage you to let the spirit move you and when you'[re ready, you'll be moved back to the keyboard! Enjoy the holidays!

Thank you for your sharing. Your writing, just as it is, is enjoyable, thoughtful, and heartfelt. It is sufficient as it unfolds. No other expectations from this reader! Love to you and your presence in our world!

It sounds like you’re living a very fulfilling retirement! You can be a writer and a lot of other things all at once, although it’s hard. It’s funny—I always assume I’ll write more once I retire, but it sounds like you’re experiencing the opposite.

I dreamed of writing more when I retired too, and I have every confidence that it will come after the holidays. I'm just glad I gave myself permission to let it flow (or not!) during these first few months.
