Annette, I also have hope for better days ahead. Your post helps me feel that encouragement. Thanks for letting readers know about the book, and bout those strong and brilliant women leading adventures in Alaska! Makes me want to head in that direction.
Thanks, Annette. As that little girl also, I was limited to teacher, nurse, secretary, etc. I chose teacher. LOL. Also, much later in life, I learned this saying, "If you can't see it, you can't be it!"
We can see so much more now, we can be so much more now, and it cannot be put back into that very small box. Peace.
Of, yeah, I left our secretary. Of course, that was one of the options available! I like hearing that you believe that what we can see can't "be put back into that very small box." From your lips...
Thank you for sharing all this wonderful information. It is still astonishing. That women are silenced in our lives are so restricted after all this hard work. You are a woman who dares.
You're right, Fran. It sad and enraging to see more women being taught/forced to be silent in the right-wing's cultural take-over. There is still so much work to do, but I was very glad to see the young women of Alaska push back by following their dreams and doing what they want to do.
Annette, oh, wow! I feel the frustration of your five-year-old self, denied entry. I believe my mom would have been an incredible businesswoman but in college, she was told she could become a nurse or a teacher. Both are excellent careers, but if those are the only options you're offered, it can embitter a talented woman. Love the hope... it is amazing the opportunities we have now. Even in these strained and strange days, we can find others who will lift us up and support us as women. Thank you for sharing... I have goosebumps!
Thank you for voicing what women are feeling. We need to fight like hell to keep the freedoms we have won!
That is so true. Thank you for all you do!

You would love Alaska, Julie. It’s an expensive journey, but it worth saving for. And what a joy to see strong, young women doing what they love!

Thanks so much. I feel for your mom. I know what that feels like. I’m glad you feel the hope!
Thank you, Annette! I feel your pain, and your hope.
Thanks, Cathy! I know you’re with me!
