Upcoming Events!
Because writing and reading are typically solitary affairs, it’s invaluable to come together in community to meet with others who are absorbing the same content. In this way, we can share what insights we've gained, questions we have, and feelings the stories evoked. I’m excited to announce three free virtual events so we can do just that!

I hope you’ll join me future events I offer to listen, share, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company. I would mean the world to me to see you there.

One Year Anniversary Celebration
May 24, 2024
7:00-8:30 pm Eastern (6:00 pm Central, 5:00 pm Mountain, 4:00 pm Pacific)
Come celebrate with me! One year ago, I started a new writing journey by posting sixty-five stories over the course of several months about women I call Accidental Mentors, women who have impacted my life in some way. I’ve published over 137 newsletters in all, including my latest serialized memoir project, If You Only Knew: A Memoir of Family Secrets and Their Undoing. It’s been quite a year!
To celebrate this momentous occasion, I’ve invited several of my favorite writers, Meg Kearney, Robin Farmer, Anne-Marie Oomen, and Kassie Rubico, to celebrate with me. They’ll each read from their work, and we’ll discuss the role of personal writing from their varied perspectives.
Find out more about each of these amazing writers:
We’ll talk about memoir, essays, poetry, and fictionalized memoir for adults and young adults, and how telling true stories touches readers in ways that pure fiction cannot. I know you’ll enjoy this opportunity to hear from these incredible writers and powerful women (not necessarily in that order!).
I hope you can join us. There will be prizes!
If You Only Knew Literary Salon 1
April 21, 2024
7:00-8:30 pm Eastern (6:00 pm Central, 5:00 pm Mountain, 4:00 pm Pacific)
In the tradition of the literary salon, we'll engage in a thought-provoking discussion exploring themes of family, identity, and resilience that resonate throughout the first half of my serialized memoir, If You Only Knew: A Memoir of Family Secrets and Their Undoing.
I’ll start by sharing a reading, and then we’ll delve into your questions, observations, and ideas, including what it’s like to write and share deeply personal stories. Whether you've been traveling on this journey with me from the beginning or are curious to learn more, I’d love to see you there.
