Thanks for the profound reminder: "I know there’s more I could be doing but, unlike some of my friends who give so much of themselves they can no longer find peace, I have decided that I must be grounded first before I can give to others."
I just heard an evangelical preacher talk about Advent being a time of lamentation, based on the tragedies committed by King Herod in the Book of Matthew (and how closely it parallels what is happening in Gaza.) While it's hard to think of this season as a time for lamentation, I think we have to understand it and your writing exemplifies that. As always, thank you for your sharing your wisdom!
I so appreciate these lines: "In a world that’s so out of whack, each of us can contribute to peace by living in as much balance as we can possibly create for ourselves. Our overt expressions of kindness, joy, hope, and love make the world a better place for everyone." Thank you for the reminder!
Lovely Annette - thank you.
Thank you, Barbara. It's a difficult time to think about peace.

Thanks, Kat. I wrote it to remind myself.
Amen.

Thank you, Denise. And next week I'll be writing about joy! That's even harder to think about than peace!

I'm glad the words were meaningful to you. It's the only think I can think of doing at a time when there's so little we can do.
Thank you
