I read The Nightingale during my World War II fiction phase before I knew how prolific Kristin Hannah is. I adored it, and thanks to Margaret Rush, have read several others. (MR is my dealer) I loved The Women most, but many of the others top my list as well!
Thank you for this list! I, too, am a fan of Kristin Hannah, and have read the ones you read (the monument in DC to the women of Vietnam choked me up when I was there a couple months ago.). If you haven't yet, I found her book, "The Four Winds" among her most compelling. I also discovered, through her, another author I find wonderful - Ariel Lawhon. She wrote "Code Name: Helene" and also "Frozen River" - 2 scrupulously researched works of historical fiction about real women. I have now added some of your recommends to my TBR list! Thanks!
Thank you for your recs! I’ll definitely look at them. Yes, historical fiction about real women is a favorite of mine. I have read Four Winds. It was my first Hannah, and I loved it. The Great Alone is my second favorite. Thanks again for Ariel Lawhon!
I too read On Tyranny, The Women, and The Nightingale this year, as well as your book "Living Into the Truth: A Daughter's Journey of Discovery," which I very much enjoyed!
You’re welcome, and congratulations on publishing your book this year! I agree, I absolutely love Kristin Hannah’s storytelling ability. “The Great Alone” is on my TBR list and how timely that you read after your Alaska trip. If you had read it before, would it have changed anything about your trip?
What was so great about the timing was that we had visited most of the places in Alaska she wrote about. It was like placing the story right on top of our travels.
Annette, I appreciate your list! For some reason, I've not delved into Kristin Hannah's books yet ever though I have several hard copies right on my shelf. She fits right in with my chosen authors, which include Piccoult, Diane Chamberlain, Ann Patchett, etc. And your book is in my Kindle, awaiting a read!!
In terms of Hannah, I’d suggest starting with The Four Winds, or The Nightingale. Both are amazing. Given your other list of authors, you will love her, I’m sure. And let me know how you like mine. I hope you do!

Thanks so much for reading Living Into the Truth. It means so much to me that you enjoyed it. Isn’t Hannah amazing? I’d do anything to write like her!

Surely will do!
The Serviceberry is on my (forever-long) to-read list.
It’s can be a fairly quick read so maybe that will move it up?
