Two stories yesterday, none today, and some info about an upcoming opportunity

Apparently, my accidental mentor who is supposed to guide me when I schedule things went missing yesterday, so I accidentally sent out two stories. Oh, well, I hope you enjoyed them both. But that means there’s no new story today.

I thought I’d take this opportunity then to answer a question that has come up.

Some of you have been asking how many more of these you have to endure, oh no, I mean enjoy (it’s all about word choice! LOL!), so I thought I’d take this opportunity to fill you in on where things stand with Accidental Mentors.

When I conceived the idea in 2020, my original plan was to honor 65 women, one for each year I’d been alive. I will meet that goal as long as the goddess is willing and the creek don’t rise (with climate change creating chaos around the globe, that’s a real concern. I’m glad I live on higher ground!).

I started posting this series on May 24th and plan to finish on September 8th. At that time, I will have published:

• a prologue

• stories about 65 women

• 7 decade overviews

• an epilogue, and

• a special treat

That totals 75 posts in about three and half months. I have to say I’m pretty impressed with myself about that.

Your turn is coming!

When I wrap up this phase, I plan to take a couple weeks off (maybe three), and then it’ll be your turn. Watch for an announcement about an upcoming free webinar where I’ll share what I’ve learned about writing about my accidental mentors and provide you with prompts and ideas for how you can write about your own.

I’ll then invite you to submit your stories. As long as you meet the submission guidelines, which I’ll share with you at the webinar and in an upcoming post, I’ll publish your stories on Accidental Mentors. I’m counting on you! I can’t wait!

This doesn’t mean I’ll stop writing, but I don’t yet know what focus my writing will take (hence the time off!). I hope you’ll still enjoy whatever I do.
